Memento Prototype
The brief was to design a product for the faculty at NIFT to go with the theme of prestige. The theme pf prestige was explored and a moodboard was developed reflecting it. A consumer study was then done on the faculty at NIFT, particularly at the Delhi centre.
Based on this the product seletced was a memento that also has a utilitarian function. The concept was then developed in the form of initial sketches, and final 4 concpets.
The concept seletced finally was of a memento that acts as a table top accessory. The memento comprises of blocks stacked atop each other at different angles, reflecting the way in which faculties help students in growing and reaching the desired level of finesse and skill. The inner back of all blocks has a mirror surface, that symbolises reflection and retrospection. All the blocks are also illuminated from within to reflect wisdom.
The memento has a base to store the battery for the lights. The battery can be used to power the lights while presenting the memento and then the chord provided can be used once its placed in one place.
The different blocks can be used to store different accessories such as stationary products that often clutter the desks of design faculties. Two of the blcoks also have magnetic clips to store U-clips, paper clips etc.
